Hymns to Other Gods

In the spirit of the solstice season, here are some carols worthy of the Other Gods, courtesy of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society:

  1. Love these, especially the first and last. They are particularly creepy. Methinks HPL himself would get a chuckle out of them.

  2. Yes! Those two are my favorites also!

Thanks for stopping by -- it's a funny coincidence, I was just at your blog yesterday after a long hiatus and I almost posted a nasty message in response to your review of "The Mind Parasites", a book I am currently reading and enjoying. Your disdain for Wilson's high-mindedness and your casual dismissal of geniuses like Nietzsche as "musty white dudes" and Huxley's ideas as "half-baked" really provoked my ire. However, I refrained from attacking you because you write well and enjoy Lovecraftian horror so you're still OK in my book.

I'm always on the lookout for modern writers who capture the spirit of Lovecraft -- do you have any recommendations? Have you read Brian Lumley? His books sound interesting, and will probably be the next thing I read. Have you thought of reviewing something by him?
